This artwork by Abanindranath Tagore achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2013. In the The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection auction, the work Untitled (Man With Watering Can) sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,852.97) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).
