Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Untitled (Sea Creatures) by Abanindranath Tagore was sold in the The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection auction at Christies in New York in September 2013. The price achieved of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,694.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Untitled (Sea Creatures) von Abanindranath Tagore wurde im September 2013 in der Auktion The Art of Nandalal Bose, Abanindranath Tagore and Rabindranath Tagore: The Supratik Bose Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 3.694,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
