Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Le pont by Abraham Mintchine was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,623.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham Mintchine achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musician With Parakeet in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 84,765.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Le pont von Abraham Mintchine im November 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.350,00 (€ 2.623,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abraham Mintchine erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musician With Parakeet im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.500,00 (€ 84.765,27).
