Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Little Fighter Girl in Heaven by Adam Handler was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 40,320.00 (€ 5,166.84). Admittedly, works by Adam Handler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ghost Abduction in a Lost Flower Garden in March last year with an auction result of HKD 441,000.00 (€ 50,766.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Little Fighter Girl in Heaven von Adam Handler im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 40.320,00 (€ 5.166,84) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adam Handler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ghost Abduction in a Lost Flower Garden im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 441.000,00 (€ 50.766,88).
