In October 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Coca Cola Vase by Ai Weiwei. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 272,500.00 (€ 347,943.14), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ai Weiwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,853,881.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coca Cola Vase von Ai Weiwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 272.500,00 (€ 347.943,14) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ai Weiwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.853.881,79).
