In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Le Passeur by Albert Marquet. The »bidding war« ended at USD 201,600.00 (€ 189,224.70), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Albert Marquet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Plage De Sainte-Adresse in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,217,250.00 (€ 1,538,644.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Passeur von Albert Marquet zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 201.600,00 (€ 189.224,70) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albert Marquet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Plage De Sainte-Adresse im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.217.250,00 (€ 1.538.644,81).
