Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Not Carefree Like Royalty by Alex Gardner. The price achieved of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 70,970.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 500,000.00 – 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alex Gardner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chair #2, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 214,200.00 (€ 180,790.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Not Carefree Like Royalty von Alex Gardner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 604.800,00 (€ 70.970,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alex Gardner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Chair #2 beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 214.200,00 (€ 180.790,01) versteigert wurde.
