The work Hanger by Alex Gardner was worth USD 47,880 (€ 41,358) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 15,000 many times over. Admittedly, works by Alex Gardner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chair #2 in June last year with an auction result of USD 214,200 (€ 180,790).
