Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nest and Two Orange Spots by Alexander Calder was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 25,600.00 (€ 23,469.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Calder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poisson volant (Flying Fish) in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 25,925,000.00 (€ 19,006,598.24).
