Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Heilandsgesichte: Auferstehung Oder Das Neue Sehen Ii (Saviour’S Face: Resurrection Or The New Seeing Ii) by Alexej von Jawlensky was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 237,500.00 (€ 264,913.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexej von Jawlensky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Schokko (Schokko Mit Tellerhut) Schokko (Schokko With Wide-Brimmed Hat) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 9,428,500.00 (€ 12,332,107.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Heilandsgesichte: Auferstehung Oder Das Neue Sehen Ii (Saviour’S Face: Resurrection Or The New Seeing Ii) von Alexej von Jawlensky im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 237.500,00 (€ 264.913,16) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexej von Jawlensky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Schokko (Schokko Mit Tellerhut) Schokko (Schokko With Wide-Brimmed Hat) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.428.500,00 (€ 12.332.107,99).
