Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Marilyn Monroe, 1953 by Alfred Eisenstaedt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,604.56). Admittedly, works by Alfred Eisenstaedt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,425.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Monroe, 1953 von Alfred Eisenstaedt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.604,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Eisenstaedt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 39.425,96).
