This artwork by Amoako Boafo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in November last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction auction, the work Golden Frames sold for HKD 3,024,000 (€ 336,238) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amoako Boafo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Shirt in March this year with an auction result of CNY 8,760,000 (€ 7,656,004).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amoako Boafo erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in Association with Poly Auction wurde die Arbeit Golden Frames für HKD 3.024.000 (€ 336.238) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orange Shirt im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 8.760.000 (€ 7.656.004).
