Artwork auctioned at ten times the upper estimate price
The work Red Couch by Amoako Boafo was worth HKD 3,250,000 (€ 368,130) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction 21st Century Art Day Sale at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 300,000 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amoako Boafo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orange Shirt in March this year with an auction result of CNY 8,760,000 (€ 7,656,004).

Die Arbeit Red Couch von Amoako Boafo war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres HKD 3.250.000 (€ 368.130) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 21st Century Art Day Sale bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orange Shirt im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 8.760.000 (€ 7.656.004).
