Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le torrent automobile (Poème-assemblage) by André Breton was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2019. The price achieved of GBP 250,000.00 (€ 281,037.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André Breton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Chanson-Objet, which sold at auction in May 2012 for USD 866,500.00 (€ 700,824.98).
