Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mao by Andy Warhol was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,117,600.00 (€ 1,048,995.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
