Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Banksquiat. Boy and Dog in Stop and Search by Banksy. The price achieved of USD 9,724,500.00 (€ 9,127,557.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Banksy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Love is in the Bin, which sold at auction in October 2021 for GBP 18,582,000.00 (€ 22,014,651.32).
