Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work April Showers, 1948 by Bedrich Grunzweig was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,314.50 (€ 1,056.59). Admittedly, works by Bedrich Grunzweig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Between Heaven And Earth: Window-Washer Of The Un in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 4,825.00 (€ 4,307.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit April Showers, 1948 von Bedrich Grunzweig im Februar 2004 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.314,50 (€ 1.056,59) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bedrich Grunzweig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Between Heaven And Earth: Window-Washer Of The Un im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.825,00 (€ 4.307,65).
