Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'La rue de Rivoli sous la pluie' by Brassaï was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in April last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 13,153.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brassaï - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky), which sold at auction in April 2001 for USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'La rue de Rivoli sous la pluie' von Brassaï wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 13.153,65) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Brassaï mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ciel Postiche (False Sky) beobachtet, die im April 2001 für USD 44.650,00 (€ 50.315,53) versteigert wurde.
