Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Les Amoureux - Le Baiser Prés De La Place D'Italie, Paris' (Lovers, Place D'Italie) by Brassaï. The price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 16,756.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brassaï - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky), which sold at auction in April 2001 for USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Les Amoureux - Le Baiser Prés De La Place D'Italie, Paris' (Lovers, Place D'Italie) von Brassaï zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 16.756,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brassaï mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ciel Postiche (False Sky) beobachtet, die im April 2001 für USD 44.650,00 (€ 50.315,53) versteigert wurde.
