This artwork by Cecily Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in March last year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled (sketchbook of drawings) sold for GBP 27,750.00 (€ 32,900.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecily Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) in May this year with an auction result of USD 6,705,000.00 (€ 6,293,410.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cecily Brown erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (sketchbook of drawings) für GBP 27.750,00 (€ 32.900,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cecily Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (The Beautiful and Damned) im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.705.000,00 (€ 6.293.410,93).
