Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled Film Still #21 by Cindy Sherman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 871,500.00 (€ 775,631.90), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cindy Sherman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled #93, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled Film Still #21 von Cindy Sherman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 871.500,00 (€ 775.631,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled #93 beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16) versteigert wurde.
