Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Self-Portrait with Sun Tan) by Cindy Sherman was auctioned at Christies in London (Online) in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,583.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cindy Sherman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #93 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Self-Portrait with Sun Tan) von Cindy Sherman kam im September 2020 bei Christies in London (Online) zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.583,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #93 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16).
