Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction 20th Century Evening Sale, which included the work Champ d'avoine et de coquelicots by Claude Monet. The price achieved of USD 14,130,000.00 (€ 13,167,458.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000,000.00 – 18,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Monet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).
