In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work Iris by Claude Monet. The result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,722,570.11) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Monet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iris von Claude Monet zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.722.570,11) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Monet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Meules im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.747.000,00 (€ 99.333.572,52).
