The price achieved of USD 10,133,000 (€ 9,593,827) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 8,000,000 - 12,000,000. Admittedly, works by Clyfford Still have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 1949-A-No . 1 in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 61,682,500 (€ 45,850,368).
