Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dutch Ville Noyée - Verzonken Stad by Constant was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 150,000.00 – 220,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 156,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Constant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme Oiseau, which sold at auction in December 2011 for EUR 432,750.00.

Die Arbeit Dutch Ville Noyée - Verzonken Stad von Constant kam im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 150.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 156.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Constant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme Oiseau beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für EUR 432.750,00 versteigert wurde.
