Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work A young girl at a nudist camp, PA., 1965 by Diane Arbus for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,450.50). This price was achieved in the auction Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diane Arbus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A box of ten photographs in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A young girl at a nudist camp, PA., 1965 von Diane Arbus für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.450,50) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern Visions: Exceptional Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diane Arbus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A box of ten photographs im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
