This artwork by Diego Rivera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2009. In the Impressionist and Modern Art auction, the work Popocatépetl And Iztaccíhuatl sold for USD 17,500.00 (€ 13,820.88) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Rivera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rivals in November last year with an auction result of USD 14,130,000.00 (€ 13,687,881.43).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Diego Rivera erzielte im Februar 2009 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Popocatépetl And Iztaccíhuatl für USD 17.500,00 (€ 13.820,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Rivera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Rivals im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.130.000,00 (€ 13.687.881,43).
