Despite a disappointment, a good price for Thomas Monro
When the work Figures On A Path In A Country Landscape by Thomas Monro was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 263.50).
