It achieved a price of USD 37,800.00 (€ 36,617.26), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Degas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Petite danseuse de quatorze ans in May last year with an auction result of USD 41,610,000.00 (€ 38,775,510.20).

Die Arbeit Cavalier von Edgar Degas kam im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 36.617,26) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Degas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Petite danseuse de quatorze ans im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.610.000,00 (€ 38.775.510,20).
