Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Dunes, Oceano, 1936 by Edward Weston. The price achieved of USD 50,400.00 (€ 39,458.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Weston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,609,000.00 (€ 1,033,530.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dunes, Oceano, 1936 von Edward Weston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.400,00 (€ 39.458,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edward Weston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.609.000,00 (€ 1.033.530,32).
