Auction result well in line with expectations
In September this year Bonhams held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online, which included the work Untitled, May 1986, 1986 by Elizabeth Murray. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,680.00 (€ 7,256.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Elizabeth Murray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Little Fingers in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 437,500.00 (€ 397,041.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California Part II Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, May 1986, 1986 von Elizabeth Murray zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.680,00 (€ 7.256,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Elizabeth Murray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Little Fingers im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 437.500,00 (€ 397.041,47).
