Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Gospel Truth by Ernie Barnes was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 756,300 (€ 881,081) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as GBP 600,000 - 1,000,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May this year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000 (€ 14,234,461).

Die Arbeit The Gospel Truth von Ernie Barnes wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 756.300 (€ 881.081) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600.000 – 1.000.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000 (€ 14.234.461).
