Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La fleur noire by Fernand Léger was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 516,600.00 (€ 484,888.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernand Léger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Contraste de formes in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 70,062,500.00 (€ 58,885,947.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La fleur noire von Fernand Léger kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 516.600,00 (€ 484.888,30) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernand Léger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Contraste de formes im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 70.062.500,00 (€ 58.885.947,22).
