Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pan - 2005 by François-Xavier Lalanne was auctioned at Artcurial in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 800.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 656.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by François-Xavier Lalanne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'RHINOCRÉTAIRE I', PIÈCE UNIQUE, 1964 in October this year with an auction result of EUR 18,335,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pan - 2005 von François-Xavier Lalanne im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Artcurial versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 800,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 656,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von François-Xavier Lalanne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'RHINOCRÉTAIRE I', PIÈCE UNIQUE, 1964 im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.335.000,00.
