In May this year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Sitzender weiblicher akt by George Grosz. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,383.71), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Grosz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gefährliche Straße in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 9,740,250.00 (€ 11,288,971.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 68 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sitzender weiblicher akt von George Grosz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.383,71) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Grosz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gefährliche Straße im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.740.250,00 (€ 11.288.971,84).
