Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Glendon Cordell achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Shanghai in September this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Sale auction, the work Tomorrowland sold for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 12,922.02) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Glendon Cordell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Five Trees Standing Watch in May this year with an auction result of HKD 537,400.00 (€ 64,413.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Glendon Cordell erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Christies in Shanghai einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Sale wurde die Arbeit Tomorrowland für HKD 107.100,00 (€ 12.922,02) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Glendon Cordell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Five Trees Standing Watch im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 537.400,00 (€ 64.413,35).
