Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in London held the auction The Leslie Waddington Collection Part II, which included the work Untitled (Feb 1965) by Harold Cohen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,474.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold Cohen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Figure in July this year with an auction result of GBP 12,800.00 (€ 14,933.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Leslie Waddington Collection Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Feb 1965) von Harold Cohen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.474,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harold Cohen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Figure im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.800,00 (€ 14.933,72).
