In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Discoveries, which included the work The Vine by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,340.00 (€ 10,222.66), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harriet Whitney Frishmuth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Vine in May 2009 with an auction result of USD 962,500.00 (€ 681,367.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Vine von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.340,00 (€ 10.222,66) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harriet Whitney Frishmuth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Vine im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 962.500,00 (€ 681.367,69).
