Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Road by Helen Frankenthaler was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,875,000.00 (€ 1,759,902.38) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Helen Frankenthaler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Royal Fireworks, which sold at auction in June 2020 for USD 7,895,300.00 (€ 7,029,917.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Road von Helen Frankenthaler wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.875.000,00 (€ 1.759.902,38) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Helen Frankenthaler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Royal Fireworks beobachtet, die im Juni 2020 für USD 7.895.300,00 (€ 7.029.917,19) versteigert wurde.
