Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Metaesquema 169 by Hélio Oiticica was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 212,500.00 (€ 200,888.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 180,000.00 – 220,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hélio Oiticica - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work P31 Parangolé, capa 24, Escrerbuto, which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 615,000.00 (€ 516,893.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Metaesquema 169 von Hélio Oiticica kam im November 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 200.888,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 180.000,00 – 220.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hélio Oiticica mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit P31 Parangolé, capa 24, Escrerbuto beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 615.000,00 (€ 516.893,60) versteigert wurde.
