Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session, which included the work Metaesquema by Hélio Oiticica. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,844.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hélio Oiticica achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work P31 Parangolé, capa 24, Escrerbuto in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 615,000.00 (€ 516,893.60).
