A top price for Hélio Oiticica - as previously expected
The work P31 Parangolé, capa 24, Escrerbuto by Hélio Oiticica was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 615,000.00 (€ 516,893.60) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, P31 Parangolé, capa 24, Escrerbuto is the most expensive artwork by Hélio Oiticica that we have observed at auctions so far.
