Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Photographies, which included the work Carré Otis, 1994 by Helmut Newton. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,300.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Helmut Newton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,340,000.00 (€ 2,180,598.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Photographies durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carré Otis, 1994 von Helmut Newton zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.300,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Helmut Newton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "Big Nude III" (Variation), Paris im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.340.000,00 (€ 2.180.598,27).
