Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Odalisque, 1943 by Horst P. Horst was sold in the Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection auction at Christies in New York in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,710.00 (€ 10,164.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horst P. Horst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Odalisque, 1943 von Horst P. Horst wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Photographs from the Richard Gere Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.710,00 (€ 10.164,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horst P. Horst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 210.834,55).
