Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Veiled Face (Evelyn Tripp), 1949 by Irving Penn was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2018. The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irving Penn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman in Moroccan Palace (Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn), 1951 in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 361,000.00.
