This artwork by Izumi Kato achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work without title sold for HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 453,074.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Izumi Kato - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 1,560,000.00 (€ 1,593,065.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Izumi Kato erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 453.074,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Izumi Kato mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 1.560.000,00 (€ 1.593.065,22) versteigert wurde.
