Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Head of a man by Jean Gérard Matisse. The price achieved of USD 720.00 (€ 525.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean Gérard Matisse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tête d'homme, which sold at auction in January 2005 for USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,379.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Head of a man von Jean Gérard Matisse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 720,00 (€ 525,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jean Gérard Matisse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tête d'homme beobachtet, die im Januar 2005 für USD 1.800,00 (€ 1.379,42) versteigert wurde.
