This artwork by Jiri Georg Dokoupil achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Cologne in September 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Trommler (Portrait von Walter Dahn) (Drummer (Portrait of Walter Dahn)) sold for EUR 20,160.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jiri Georg Dokoupil achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zigarette mit Streichhölzern (aus der Schnuller-Bilder Serie) [Cigarette with Matches (from the Pacifier Series)|AID387265] in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 312,000.00 (€ 231,918.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jiri Georg Dokoupil erzielte im September 2021 bei Sothebys in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Trommler (Portrait von Walter Dahn) (Drummer (Portrait of Walter Dahn)) für EUR 20.160,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jiri Georg Dokoupil erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zigarette mit Streichhölzern (aus der Schnuller-Bilder Serie) [Cigarette with Matches (from the Pacifier Series)|AID387265] im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.000,00 (€ 231.918,53).
