This artwork by Joan Gillchrest achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Cat in Chair sold for GBP 1,792.00 (€ 2,090.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Gillchrest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jack'S View Of Mousehole in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,948.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joan Gillchrest erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Cat in Chair für GBP 1.792,00 (€ 2.090,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Gillchrest erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jack'S View Of Mousehole im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.948,53).
